It feels like I will have to wait for September Ceremonies. Anyone Applied May/June 2023 and before , and still didn't receive approval?

Yes you are right, we have to wait for the September cermony, But its Unfair me and my friend applied same day in October 2023 and we complete the vetting same date but he got the approval and invitation for Dublin Ceremony on 21st but i don't :(

Life is unfair but the reality is everyone's situation is different. I would also like to have had my approval letter and attend the ceremony this month but I have no choice other than to be patient

Same. Applied June 2023. E-Vetting completely 05 April 2024. It is frustrating that people who applied in October 2023 have been approved. Communication from the Immigration team has been vague and non committal. Hopefully, September 2024.

Seems like a new patch of approval letters were sent today. Still didn't get one.
I applied in July 2023. My next door neighbor who I helped with the application 3 months after my own application got his approval letter today 🤣
Did anyone get theirs??

oh same here . I started to believe that my file is either lost or my application is rejected . Just don't know what is going on . Most of the recent approvals I've seen here and other platforms are from December 2023 applications and e-vetting 19th April.

Yeah I'm starting to think the same. it's frustrating to be in the dark while others that have applied way after you get processed sooner. Nothing we can do but wait I suppose.

We should plan a protest in front of their Tipperary office if they will exclude us from the upcoming ceremonies. But seriously what else they need if the vetting is completed 3 months ago and they have our files for a year and we match the criteria, what else they need to know about us!!!

I just imagine that they have an Excel sheet and they just select what appears to them on top of the sheet and send them approval

I applied back in September 2022 and only got my approval letter this 1 July. Everyday I am checking if there is a ceremony. Is there really one in September?

Do you know if there is any point in emailing them to ask about progress or is that pointless?

You can email them though if you'd like but they would just reply with a generic response . I emailed them and they replied to me after 2 weeks.

During that time I emailed 2 TDs and they both contacted the Department on my behalf , and they replied to them in just few days . In their reply they used different response (wording) than the one I received when I emailed the department directly myself.

But both responses say they will be in touch as soon as a decision has been reached.

Hi guys, thanks for your useful posts.

I applied for naturalisation via the new online (allegedly speedier?) system in January 2024 as a UK citizen on 5 years residence in Ireland.

My Garda e-vetting disclosure was "viewed" on 30 May 2024. I have no convictions, etc.

But as of today I still haven't received my Approval Letter.

I see others who applied in 2024 via the new online system had their Garda vetting viewed and then received their Approval Letters between one to two months later, in some cases less than a month later.

I'm getting a bit worried, though I don't know if it's any worth contacting them, as you'll just get a generic response.

I don't know if anyone else who applied under the new online system is having the same delays in getting the Approval Letter?

Best of luck to everyone with your applications

Almost no-one from Jan has an approval yet. Reports you see online of Jan approvals are basically fake news. The number of actual, real, Jan approvals is likely less than 5 out of the 1000+* applications each month.

You aren’t experiencing a delay, in relation to other applications of your era, and you are experiencing a radically expedited process compared to 2022 and even 2023 applications.

If you contact them you’ll get a generic response at best, but likely you’ll be ignored, as your timeline expectations are at huge odds with reality. Your acknowledgement letter will have estimated 19 months. We’re still not yet actually seeing any massive improvements on that, for the vast bulk of applications.

Ignore the fake posters and ignore the extreme outliers. There’s no reason to expect that you will receive receive your approval faster than the average pace, and even with the ‘faster**’ online application. 19 months is still a fairly fast time to have the passport in your hand (though it used to be 19 months to approval- so if you get a passport by then you’ll still be faster than historical applications.)

*likely 2000+ per month in reality.
** I mean it’s two months after June ceremony and they STILL haven’t posted certs out. There’s no magic bullet suddenly empowering the Dept with efficiency.

Thanks Vadrar for taking the time to reply.

I hadn't known the timeline is how you've described, and appreciate your clarifying when Approval Letters might go out.

I've up to now trusted the timelines posted on this forum by different folks, and can see they vary a lot.

By way of example of false/fake news, here's a great example below. No-one has received their certificates - they haven't even been printed yet. But people falsely claim it, people repeat it and some people believe it.

Hi Peace23 - Don't despair. I applied on Sept 7, 2022 and have not received an acceptance letter as yet either. Will be 2 complete years in another week or so. My application and supporting docs were all on paper, and there was quite a bit of it, so I suspect that is what is taking so long. Last word I got from INIS was a request for an updated Police Report from my home country, and I believe that was in February of 2024. That gave me hope, as I had at least heard SOMETHING from them! Best wishes to you and the rest of us who have been waiting since 2021 and 2022!
