Top tips:
1. Applying for Renunciation and OCI one after the other did help me in saving time although I was advised otherwise by VFS officer who suggested I should wait for RC to arrive and then apply for OCI.
2. Submission at London Goswell saved me an extra visit for High Commission Officer’s signature during renunciation.
3. I used the VFS paid services - Digital Document Check and Form Filling which saved all aprehensions of potential rejection due to technical submission errors. Charges are very reasonable compared to private vendors available in the market.

Hi I have sent the copy of renunciation certificate to inf.birmingham@mea.gov.in, oci.birmingham@mea.gov.in and cons1.birmingham@mea.gov.in email id of CGI Birmingham.

I am still awaiting a confirmation if this is successfully registered at their end but you could give above email Id a try.

Hi all,

I have started the whole "path to OCI" process but surrendering my Indian Passport on the 9th of July 2024.

I paid for dxd courier and standrad sms tracking services that VFS Goswell offers.

Until now, (been a month) no tracking status received via email/sms and can't track it on the passport seva website either. I called up + visited VFS Goswell + emailed VFS to enquire and they said it is "still in process".

I do not want to apply for renunciation in tandem because I'd rather wait for my surrender certificate and give my docs for renunciation + OCI on the same day. I cannot do that and I'm stuck now.

I have planned travel to India in November so Ideally I want the surrender to be done by then atleast.

Anyone has had a similar experience recently?

Yes my wife did. We gave a friends address for delivery of renunciation and it got delivered while we were away.

Hi, where do you specify delivery address? It's not on either of the forms (surrender or renunciation)
