Fiancée’s Visa Application to Poland

Post by cetinodinson » Tue Sep 10, 2024 11:34 am

Hello,

My fiancée, who is a Polish citizen, will send me an invitation so I can apply for a visa. We have been together for three years, and I proposed to her this summer (she said yes!). However, after reading information from this sub and other sources, I am unsure if our "engagement" status will negatively affect our visa application.

We plan to meet in Krakow and have a romantic winter holiday in Zakopane. However, I have a few questions:

Should I write a letter and outline a detailed itinerary?

Should the visa application be based entirely on the length of our holiday, or is it possible to request a duration of 1-3 months?

Is it beneficial or detrimental to provide information about our relationship? If necessary, we can include photos from our three years together, especially those with the engagement ring.

Should the visa be a single-entry or multiple-entry visa?

Are there any other aspects I might have overlooked or need to pay attention to?

ps: I 'am a Turkish Citizen if it matters!
thanks in advance!

Hi,

The Polish immigration don't really encourage Polish citizens with foreigner marriages, then residency. You need to plan your application properly. It would be best you marry outside of Poland then apply for National type D visa (for temporary residence).

The easiest will be moving with your Polish partner (If only you can prove sufficient cohabitation. If not you have to marry first) to another EU country via Freemovement, then after move back to Poland to enjoy the EU freemovement Directive.

********Note; If you are refused Polish visa based on the invitation as a partner to Polish, it's likely they can refuse you after marriage as marriage of convenience if you apply again in a short time.

Answers to your question

*Yes add a summary of your detailed itinerary
**The duration of stay should cover your holiday period
*** First visa has to be single entry
****Yes provide them key documentation of your relationship. (Photos, Tickets together, call logs or text messages).
*****Turkish nationality is irrelevant

All the best

Thank you so much for enlightening me!
I am going to apply for 7-10 days of singe entry with a very detailed summary via reservetions of hotel and I will also add return tickets.
One more thing came into my mind, adding return back tickers for two of us may be helpfull to make consulate think that we (I) will back my home country, with my fiancee, we (I) not plan to get married nor overstay in Poland.
Cause if it may do that, I can get return tickets for us right after Poland holiday dates to go back Turkey together, and make a hotel reservation for us Antalya. (which is still summer in there)
You think that maybe a good idea, or I am just making it more complex and no need.
Thanks in advance!!

So far as they realise you have a fiancee who is Polish national or other EU state citizen, there will be a question mark on your application. Alot of people were ones like you and didn't return. They like to even refuse short stay visas for Polish spouses.
It's a 50/50 gamble.

The best option is what I have suggested
**Marry outside Poland and apply for National type D visa
Or apply
***EU citizen partner visa by EU law, thus if you are moving with her to another EU state.
