Child Indian passport renewal- 2 months now still waiting

Hi,

I applied for my child Indian passport renewal in London on 15 July 2024. I have British passport wife has Indian passport and they both has ILR. On 27 July I receuved email to submit declaratiin again which I did next day on 28 July. I have been calling VFS every day and all they say is under process.

Did anyone had same issue in UK. What shall I do now?

(Similar background here - one parent has Indian Passport, the other parent has British Passport)

I applied for my kids' Indian passport renewal in Edinburgh in July this year. I got a text message a week later saying insufficient documents submitted. I emailed the Embassy asking what other docs they reqd. But they replied saying that the text was sent by mistake.

I finally got my kids' passports in Aug. (took 4-5 weeks) But the validity of the kids passport is only 2 years instead of the usual 5 years.

You could try emailing HCI London to see why there is a delay of 2 months.
What does the message on the website say when you login to your ID / try to track the application?

I am trying to login but I am unable to login. I am trying to change password but not receiving email to change it.

I called this while week every day they keep saying under process also went to High Commission in London they said under review.

I dont understand why they are taking so long. 2 months now. Passport renewal never takes so long.

I feel stuck.

Are you using the portal3.passport website to track your application?

Have you received your passports back? I have been in same situation submitted on 23rd Aug 2024 and no updates so far. The passport seva tracking says print initiated for last 3 weeks. VFS, HCI is of no help at all.

Hi all I am in the same boat and my kids passport expires soon. are passport renewal applications being processed now for minors if one parent is not an Indian passport holder. Thanks
