Scrapping the 10 year route ???

Post by HelloEveryone » Fri Sep 20, 2024 2:55 pm

Hello guys
does anyone know anything about this

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/202 ... ute-dearly beloved

scrapping the 10 year route ? I am currently using it and have been in the UK for 18 years now, I am due my 3rd renewal this december.

1. I think we should start a petition to scrap it
2. Does anyone know if after 20 years of stay here, I will qualify for ILR or continue this harsh route, until I am 23 years here ?

many thanks

Is it me or that article has been deleted? When I click the link it goes to Guardian's main page.

Couldn't you just naturalise? You're talking about the ILR based on 10 year residency? So you can then naturalise a year after receiving this?

You need to gain ILR first before naturalisation. OP doesn’t yet have ILR.
