I just got my ref number today. More than a week after it was posted. Got to love the royal mail!

Applied within UK
Application: Fresh Talent -> Tier 1 (General) no dependents

30-Dec: Application submitted by Royal Mail Special Delivery
31-Dec: Home office received the application
3-Jan: CC shows Home Office charge
8-Jan: Ref Number received (dated 31-Dec)

I think harakiri & R053992 can tell the latest about BHC, Mumbai status as they applied on 08/12.

I applied on 12/12 and the status is same "Forwarded to BHC, Mumbai"

Mine too the same status - Forwarded to British High Commission. I guess Bangalore VFS is quicker than Mumbai.

Not sure how long would this take. Anybody emailed Mumbai BDHC?

I agree with you that Banglore BDHC is more active than Bombay. I have applied on 21-Nov-2008 but still waiting. Got the reply from BDHC, Mumbai in mail pasted above. But still no response ahead.

I have seen a post about a person who applied to BDHC Mumbai on 7-Oct-2008 and got the Visa on 7-Jan.. I am really worried if I have to wait that long. I have already postponed two of my international assignments but I definitely have to travel by 3rd week of Jan.

I think those who applied in October/November have to get through three delays

Integra time delay
Disruption in BHC services due to techincal flaw
Christmas/New Year Break

For those who have applied in December there are two delays to contend with

Some progress on my application - status is processed application, delivered through Blue Dart. I'm expecting my passport tomorrow!!

Wish you good luck! My status is still the same. Had applied on 08-12-08, Mumbai. This is my second application, after first one was rejected in Nov '08. May take more time for this reason.

My passport has arrived today with Tier 1 visa stamped !

My sincere thanks to all those forum members, who played a big role in my entire process of obtaining this visa.

My best wishes to all those members who are awaiting their visas. My timelines are mentioned below again:

Applied - 08/12/2008
Verification - Don't think so it happened as my HR has not informed anything to me about it
Visa validity - 07/01/2009 to 07/01/2012 (I had asked them to stamp visa starting from 15/02/2009, but I guess they did not see my covering letter thoroughly)

Thanks again to this forum. Let me know if anyone has any questions, I will try my level best to answer those.

I will have to serve a month's notice in my company before I leave for UK. So it will be approx. a month and a half later after which I plan to leave for UK.

Did you ask for the visa to be stamped at a later date? If yes, please check the start date as there was a problem with my start date.
