Salary requirement for ILR

Post by asiklk » Thu Dec 07, 2023 5:04 am

Dear Friends

At the moment I have been on a skilled worker visa for the last four years and I will be completing five years on 31 December 2024. My family and I have valid visas until January 2026
My family (wife and daughter) joined me after 9 months and their 5-year period will be on September 2025.
Now My annual salary is 40K where the ongoing rate is £32800 per annum, I know UK Gov increased the skilled worker minimum salary requirement to £38 700
But not sure about the new ongoing rate, if there are any new changes (increase ongoing rate, more than my current salary). Will it affect a person like me who already has a valid visa?
Is there any minimum salary requirement for ILR ?, I have seen some video in YouTube says, a single migrant needs, £35800 for PR, and a migrant with a family member need £49,900 for dependent PR, does this apply to the skilled workers route? Will this affect a person like me
can anyone kindly advise on these, please

regards

Despite all the media buzz, NO changes have been announced officially and nothing has changed. The changes are probably going to be announced just before April next year. It is unlikely that changes will affect people under the route but no one knows at the moment. Wait until they announce this officially next year. You seem to also be mixing the minimum salary requirement under the family visa route with the skilled worker route. Under family routes (where you need to be British or have ILR) your minimum salary depends on the number of dependants you want to bring to the UK. There is no such thing under the skilled worker route.

For the current salary rules under skilled worker route see: indefinite-leave-to-remain/ilr-minimum- ... l#p2027869

ILR requirement

Post by asiklk » Fri Sep 27, 2024 6:11 pm

Hi Friends
I arrived in the UK as a Tier 2 General Migrant on 31st December 2019, with my vignette valid from 23rd December 2019. My wife and daughter joined me on 14th September 2020, and their vignettes were valid from 26th August 2020.
We all renewed our visas in January 2023, and they are now valid until 14th January 2026.
1. I will complete 5 years of residence in December 2025, while my dependents will complete their 5 years in September 2025. I plan to apply for ILR first—what is the earliest date I can apply for my ILR?
2. Can my dependents remain on their current Skilled Worker dependent visas until they complete their 5 years?
3. I have already completed the Life in the UK test. Will I need to meet any English language requirements? I haven’t been asked for this previously as I graduated in the UK in 2010.
4. Is there anything else I should consider before applying for ILR?

Please clarify above
many thanks in advance
Kind regards,

1. Your earliest eligibility date is within 28 days of completing your 5 years, starting from 23rd December 2019. So I'd say you will become eligible by late November.
2. Yes
3. No. Main applicants do not need to meet an English language requirement under your route
4. There have been some changes to the salary requirements. Do you meet the salary requirement as per new SOCs ?

Dear Zimba,

Thank you for your response.

My new SOC code is 2136, with a standard salary of £39,900 and a lower rate of £31,100. However, my salary from last year exceeds both amounts. I hope this means I’m covered.

Best regards,
