Clarification on Travel for Non-EU Passport Holders With expired BRC After 1 January 2025

Post by faisal3100 » Fri Oct 18, 2024 12:20 am

Hi,

How will non-EU passport holders travel to the UK with an expired BRC card after 1 January 2025?

For example, a Pakistani passport holder with settled status in the UK whose BRC card expires on 31 December 2024.

I understand that UK BRC card holders settled under the EU Settlement Scheme already have an eVisa and do not need to take further action to obtain one. However, I’m concerned about how they will travel to the UK from Pakistan without a BRC, as Pakistani authorities require physical proof before allowing boarding.

Given the shift to a digital system after 1 January 2025, what should non-EU passport holders present at the airport if their BRC has expired? I am concerned that authorities may not accept an online status printout without any physical documentation.

Could you provide any guidance or information on how non-EU passport holders will handle travel under these new regulations?

Thank you for your assistance.
