Lodging & Travel Allowance

Post by Kintoy » Sun Jan 11, 2009 3:32 pm

Dear All,

Please I need advice on this issue.

My company (construction firm) pays lodging and periodic travel allowance for me because I work on site far away from my home.

It is declared in my pay slip as non taxable allowance.

Does this allowance count toward my earning for extension?

Thanks

Please can u throw more light on this. The allowance is a fix amount every month not re-imbursement and it is in my letter of employment as part of my renumeration.

Thanks

It isn't as this is not a reimbursement of your expenses (being a fixed amount) and I suppose would be paid to you whether or not you travel in a particular month and is not reimbursed to you based on furnishing expense receipts.

The travel allowance is paid whether I travel or not. but the lodging is daily fixed rate depending on how many days I stay on site and I do not need tender any receipts.

Everything is reflected in my pay slip except other assignments (site visit in other locations) which are re-imburseable expenses with receipt.

Does that means that HO will not take the allowance as part of my earnings.
