Telephone Marriage

Post by AnonymousKhan » Thu Jan 15, 2009 11:11 am

here's the case...

The male is studying and part-time working in UK on a student visa. The female, his spouse, is currently living in Pakistan. They are planning to marry over the telephone line which is getting popular these days I think.

So after the marriage, will they be treated like normal husband and wive, in terms of policies for getting a visa for family?

So what that link tells you is that the marriage would not be recognised as valid in the UK.

I think that's a bit of an overstatement.

If the Op is in the UK and the telephone marriage is taking place with
someone in Pakistan..then it wouldn't be legal recognised here would it.
