Hi guys,

I've been a silent member of this forum and I would like to give my warmest thanks for all the supports and advice by fellow members.

I got my visa approved today, Very Happy Timelines as follows:

Applied On: Dec 12 2008
VFS Tracking System says: Application has been forwarded to BHC.

...but today the Tracking System says:
Application result is ready for pickup with the documents provided.

BTW, I applied in VFS Manila since I am a filipino national (Philippines) but working in Nigeria. It so happen that I'm having my leave and need to process the bank statement myself and submit my application within 7 days timeframe.

Visa is valid from Feb 2008 to Feb 2012.

I still have 1 more query after receiving the visa.

Is there a timeframe using the visa, What if I tend to travel on April or May 2009 or beyond? How many days or months do I need to use the visa? Thanks for your soonest reply.

Got it!!! USA - US Citizen via Los Angeles Embassy

Post by checkmate » Thu Jan 15, 2009 7:28 pm

I'm a US Citizen and applied via the Los Angeles Embassy.

Applied and paid online 12-2-08
Biometric 12-5-08
Application mailed next day air to Los Angeles embassy 12-8-08
12-23-08 received confirmation email said "Your application requires further consideration by this office. A decision will be made on your application within 15 working days of its receipt in this office." which was different than the email my girlfriend got a few weeks before. Her email said something like "you could be approved in 24 hours but it may take 5-15 business days." I think it's because I had a couple of traffic tickets. I was worried but it worked out.

Received visa confirmation email 1-07-09
Visa and original docs received via UPS 1-08-09

Thank you all for your help!!!

Hey Raghu,

I am sure its positive as when I recieved my packet I saw a UK visas pamphlet in it which clearly states that failed applications are to be collected manually from BHC office.

Hello Everyone.

Congratulations to those who got their visa.

and good luck to those still waiting.

Guy's I have a query regarding my case your expert advice would be much appriciated.
I applied on 24th Oct 08 at Delhi.
Today i checked by phoning BHC delhi, they advised that there is a caseworker note on the sytem and they require wage slips and corresponding bank statements preceding feb 08.

I have claimed for the period of feb08 to oct-08 and was having enough points . I have provided the wage slips/bank statements for the period i have claimed. Then what might be the reson they want my previous payslips for?.
Also I was not employed for 6 month before feb 08. Although I have got pay slips until July07
and also I have provided the ITR return which states that i was not employed apperantly was a consultant in my own propriatership.

Do we have to provide full 12months pay slips , will the claimed period will not be the sufficient enough???

Your advice is much appriciated. does any one had a simillar situation.

Many Thanks

Sanjay

Please share in detail as to how you plan to find a job in the UK by being physically present in India

Kundalak,

I would say it will be easier to find a job if you are in U.K rather than from India, especially in the current market. There will be very few companies who will be willing to interview a candidate living abroad, even though you could be a perfect match.

I would advise not to resign your current job but take a 3-6 months break if possible. Do your research while you are in India. (i.e. which companies to apply, which agency to approach). Bear in mind, big companies normally advertise through agencies.

If you want to find a job while you are in India, don't apply directly on job sites. Call the agency and speak to the relevant person.

Here are few jobsites.

www. Jobserve.com
www.jobsite.co.uk
www.monster.co.uk
www.reed.co.uk ( reed is a big recruitment agency)
www.hays.com (recruitment agency)

Hope this helps.

I would suggest you try find out consultants who can get you jobs in your domain explain the situation and send them your cv. Also send them a scanned copy of your visa page.
