Claim 'Specialist Experience' but not given points?

Post by mdeleo01 » Mon Jun 13, 2005 4:49 pm

Can anyone out there reply who submitted an application with points for 'Specialist' experience but who was not given these points?

My application is claiming 50 points for 10 years of graduate level work with 5 years being specialist level work.

I have submitted evidence to support this claim... but I'm wondering how the Home Office handles cases where they disagree with the applicant.

Here's my question:

Is the determination for work experience all or nothing?
Does the HO give partial credit?

Specifically:

I KNOW my evidence supports at minimum five years of graduate level experience (worth 25 points) and probably also five years of graduate level work with two years as a specialist (worth 35 points). However, I'm second guessing my claim for the highest points (ten years with five specialty).

Will the case worker decide "this person didn't qualify for what they've claimed - zero points" or will he/she decide "this person didn't prove enough experience for 50 points, but the evidence does support 25/35 points"?

Can someone who has already received their response back from the HO reply and let me know if this situation has happened to them and the outcome?

THANKS!

As far as I know, the HO does give you partial points for your claim. If you claim points for specialist position but they do not agree, they might only give you points for graduate work experience.

Hi mdeleo01,

What have you done? Have you claimed for all points and Got the same OR they had given you points based on fulfillment of their requirement?

Thanks

Claim 'Specialist Experience' but not given points?

Post by mdeleo01 » Thu Aug 18, 2005 8:41 pm

Here's an update for those that my be interested in the outcome.

I applied in late March and got my approval letter in late June.

I'm thrilled I was approved. Unfortunately, my approval letter simply stated that I had proven that I qualifed for HSMP. There was no break down included on the letter of the points I received under each section.

Sooo- I still don't know if I was given full or partial credit for my work experience claims. However, with my education and salary, I would have reached the required 65 points with only the minimum 25 points under work experience.

If you're curious, I supplied information on employer letterhead (signed by HR Rep) with detailed information of my various positions, responsibility, etc.

Good luck to everyone else out there!

Evidence for Experience

Post by Ashwin2005 » Sat Aug 20, 2005 8:07 am

Dear mdeleo01,

In addition to the reference letter (on the letter head), did you som\bmit any other documents? Some posts here say they have also in addition submitted Appointment letter, Tax returns etc., as proof of employment? Did you submit these? Please share your experience.

Somewhere in the HSMP guidelines, it is stated that submitting more than one evidence will help the HSMP to validate the claims more easily. In some other section, it is stated that submitting irrelevant documents may delay the application process.

I am in a dilemma whether to submit my appointment/tax returns/additional proof along with my reference letters. I have 5 employers and am claiming 10 years experience with 5 years specialist experience.

Experts in this forum may please advise.

Ashwin2005
