nope not yet.....did a google search on someone similar to us.. waiting for ilr applied by post for more than 5 months.... she says she got her passport about a week after her MP got a reply from HO....
so based on this I am hoping to get my docs back by end of this week or next....."umeed pe duniya kayam hai mere dost"

yes there are loads of people who are waiting for months.... i wish i had done some searches on timeframe before applying or just had listen to my wife who was against sending passports in post as she doesn't trust HO....
I will probably call now next week.... will update if I get lucky earlier...

guys good news..... got a reply for my complaint.....
my ilr was granted on 10th Jan but due to IT problems their systems were not updated and they were not able to post my documents... so hopefully our passports will be back by end of this week.... now don't know if it is due to complaint letter or due to my MP.. or they are genuine about excuse about delay.... but my passports should be back soon......

They also said they don't contact applicants if your docs are complete...so if your docs are complete and not heard from HO just wait for 70 working days and do a complaint letter, details of how to do complaints can be found on ukba website contacts page.

Surdy I suggest you to check with UKBA if they haven't cancelled your application and just wait till your 70 days are finished.....

I didn't write any letter to MP. Just spoke to his office about my case, and then emailed my complaint to home office, copied my MP and his case worker on the email. There is a section on UKBA website for how to make complaints under "contacts". Use that complaint form and send it to your area UKBA cust service...you can find all details on that page.

Hi Manoj,

Congratulations!!!! It must have been a long journey for you. I tend to agree with your regrets especially looking at the current economic situation and level of Pound Sterling as compared to the Indian Rupee!!!

as u said you cant change your destiny... so something was meant to go wrong and it did....
rem I told about me sending my wife's wrong passport initially and then sending her correct passport 3 weeks later....
They send all docs and passports, mine and my daughters are fine, but they put ILR stamp on my wifes old passport.... which never had any visa on it, cleary says its cancelled and my wifes surname is different on that...
so called HO again and was told to send it by post and they will correct it so I am waiting again.... I asked if i can visit any office to get it changed but was told it will cost £500....

it wont cost anything by post as they accept its their mistake, but they don't have any published timeframe for this kind of problems so cannot gurantee.

have you got everything back...

I have a question - i am in this country for last 4.5 years now and my current contract ends March end. I am not sure if the contract will get extended or not. I will becomne elligible for ILR in Aug 09. Looking at the market conditions, io am not sure if i will be having a job after march or not. If i dont have a job after March, can i still apply for ILR?
Please suggest.i have sufficitn funds in my bank account, but no job...
