dear friends,

i had applied for tier 1 visa on 5th jan 2009.
i am in immediate need of passport and hence contacted the BHC asking if there is a premium processing concept in tier-1

they wrote back as
A decision has been made on your application and the passport will be despatched in 3-4 working days.
however, the online status tracker says
application has been forwarded to BHC
can somebody share your experiences on the same ? :).

Normally the VFS takes time to update their system. But if the BHC has told you that teh passport will be dispatched, then just wait for it. Otherwise call back.
