Tier 1 Dependant Visa

My wife and I are planning are applying for a Tier 1 General Migrant visas based on the point system. We both qualify, but are not sure if we both need apply under the point system or if one of us applies and the other applies as a dependant. Is the dependant eligible to seek employment or are there additional visa requirements?

that is nice. one of you should apply as primary applicant and other should as dependant. Person under dependant vis can work any time .
