Eligibility for ILR

Hi there,
Can any body advise me wneh to apply for ILR with following Visas

29/03/2004 to 7/08/2004 Work Permit
8/08/2004 to 04/10/2004 Permit Free Training.
04/10/2004 to 06/04/2005 Work Permit
06/04/2005 to 06/04/2009 HSMP

My stay on 29 march will be five years excetp I have a period of 40 days at Permit Free Training for doctors. Can any body advise whetner I get another extension of HSMP and apply in september for ILR or apply in March?

Hiya,

Considering the worst case scenario, even if you were outside the country for 40 days, you could still apply in March 2009. So my gut feel is, you can apply in March 09.

I don't think the permit-free training counts towards the 5 year-ILR category. I think it on;y counts towards the 10 year category. In your case I do wonder whether you will be eligible for ILR after 5 years of continuous stay on Work Permit and HSMP, which I think means that you'll be eligible in September/October 2009.
