Citizenship after Indefinite Leave to Remain in UK

Post by owais210 » Wed Jan 28, 2009 7:17 pm

Hi,

Can Anyone advise me regarding my case.

Here we go....

I came to the UK initially as a student in 2001.

In 2006 Went back home to get married to my British partner, Prior to marriage we had been together for nearly 4 years.

Due to administrative delays and checks it took high commission 9 months to provide me with my Visa as Married to British citizen......

which was for two years.
Now I have thankfully recieved my Indefinite leave this month.

Consider that apart from little absence I have been in UK literally 8 years.

Can I apply for my British passport now based on above, or is there any rules i need to follow.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Syed

I think u can.

You need to have spent three years legally in UK, two on FLR, and to have been physically in the UK on the third anniversary to the day the day u apply.

Oh, and £630 quid plus £75 for the passport - ker-ching.....
