Post Study Worker Dependant Visa outside UK

Post by mathew.hends » Mon Sep 08, 2008 3:46 pm

Hello All,

I have Post study worker Visa, I am getting married next month. I want to apply for dependant Visa for my wife from INDIA. I have been looking at the Maintenance Funds for dependants and am confused.
Can someone please tell me how much funds do I have to show, so that my wife would get dependant visa?

Thanks in Advance.

Cheers,
Matt

1600 pounds if you have been in the UK for less than 12 months. 533 pounds if you have been in UK for more than 12 months.

Read Tier 1 (dependent) policy guidance. See also Transitional arrangements for maintenance

Since you are in the UK and your dependant overseas, you will need to show £1600+£800 for 3 months constantly in either your or your partners bank account.

See this link for more details:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... ntoffunds/

If the main applicant under the post-study worker category is outside the United Kingdom or has been in the United Kingdom for less than 12 months, the family member must show that the main applicant or the dependant has at least £1,600 to support the dependant as well as the funds needed to support the main applicant.

Please share the outcome of your application.... thanks.
