contact whilst absent from partner

I read many times about submitting emails, list of telephone calls etc when you are separated from your partner. Should I print every email and submit it with the VAF4? How can you get original copies of texts? I use skype also, this does not have a print option for history, is it ok just to cut and paste to word or the like?
