I applied on: 28th Jan
Status: Application forwarded to BHC for approval

when I called BHC they said under verification.
Has anyone applied in Jan and go approval from Delhi? What is the usual timeline?
bhail256 wrote:Applied @ Colombo VFS - 5/Jan/2009

The status of the application reads: Transferred to BHC

* Visa's from colombo are transferred to Chennai BHC for the decisions to be made.

I am wondering if it too early to call Colombo VFS to verify?

the last person i know of who got approval from Delhi BHC applied on 18th dec and got approval on 3rd feb.

so this makes me think that they should be entering the Jan applied visas now or in a day or two.

what say guys ?

Jedi 001 you applied from Banglore.

I applied from Delhi and doesn't look like that my application is stuck because my turn hasn't come. The BHC said that they are doing secondary checks on my application and are now waiting for an update to come after which my visa will be processed. They said My application was received at the BHC on the 29th and they sent my docs for checks on the 3rd Feb. It normally takes about a week for the checks to come through. My status on the VFS site is still the same: application forwarded to the BHC for approval.

I wanted to know one more thing, has anyone withdrawn application? How much time does it take?

Regards
Poonam

No can be sure about the reasons of BHC doind checks on documents provided by anyone, It never happened with me, no checks or verifications were made for my application. Secondly my application was straight forward. I guess we all should have a little patience here unless you have some special urgency to get your visa done quickly.

For the first 7-10 days, I never even checked my status online. Kept my cool and got the result as expected.

I have no idea about how we can withdraw an application or whether it is really possible also.

I spoke to someone at the BHC wo told me that my status is still the same but if I ave an urgency, I should send a fax which I did iving all the reasons. If the BHC comes back to me saying they can't do it urently then I will probably withdrawr my application.

YES we can withdraw the application but the fee is not refunded. I think I will withdraw my application go to the UK get an extension on my current student visa come back and reapply for EC.

Hi Atul,

Try calling the BHC office and ask then to transfer u to someone who can answer you queries. I did that and was transferred to the visa officer.

Guys

i have applied for Tier 1 on 11/2/09 from Bangalore VFS.

I had applied for student visa to USA in 2002 and it was rejected. I have mentioned about it. with the reasons for rejection. But, I did not have the reference number. So, will that be a problem??

I also have a B1 visa to USA now. But, there is no option to enter that.

Can any one of you guys share your experience on this.

I have been trying to get some update on my visa status since more than last 2 weeks. I am very sorry to inform that there has been no proper response from any quarters. The 3 contact numbers(+91-11-24100020/ 21/ 22) given by BHC, Delhi for visa status are not been manned at all. I have spent more then 2 hours daily since last 2 weeks just to get visa status. There is more unfortunate aspect to this issue, the lady from BHC, Delhi stationed at high commission's contact number +91-11-26872161 is very rude and does not provide any help for which she is suppose to be stationed.

Is there any other way to track for my application. In such case I would like to withdraw my application as I urgently need my passport back right now.I cant wait more than a week maximum from now.How can I now apply for urgent treatment.
Please suggest on this asap.

Application Submitted(me and my wife) :29/12/2008(kolkata vfs)
status:application fwdd to bhc.
This is my 2nd time application for Tier1(general).

Thanks!

Hi Atul

please write a letter to BHC citing your reasons for urgent treatment and why you want your passport back

and write clearly that its been so much time and i'm not able to get any valid status from the numbers provided.

i'm sure they will treat your application very urgent
