Which account is better?

Post by Humana » Tue Feb 17, 2009 5:01 am

Hi,

Can anybody from UK guide? which bank is better for normal account? AbnAmro or HSBC. ? or another which exists in India.

Initially I want to open an account with them in India for:

1. For normal operations with zero cost.
2. For funds transfer from India to UK, with minimum cost.
3. Can I use the same account in UK? or Can I open an account with them in UK with reference to this account?

Please share your thoughts.

Thanks.

HSBC is definitely the preferred option.

Although, I don't think account in India with HSBC will help you in any way to open an account with them in UK. The same should apply for any bank.

If you have HSBC account in UK, you can opt for HSBC NRE account in india. The advantage is you can transfer funds directally from your HSBC UK account to India acocunt without any third party and transfer takes 3 days.. thats what i have seen.. though their exchange rates are not the best as compared to HDFC or ICICI..
