It's very strange, why your status changes so quickly. Don't worry, maybe the tel operator just tired to answer too many calls.

BTW, how do you know "waiting for consideration" indicates that my case will assigned today or tomorrow?
James..

looking at HSMP's... experience, i think you shd also give a call may be your case will also be moved into Under consideration?? like HSMP's.. status changed so quickly...

P.S: guys your updates are much faster n quicker that HO.. LOL!!

Goodluck to you both, i hope ur passports are on their way back home..

No, I was just guessing, because I know that there is 99% chance that my case was assigned to a caseworker on Friday (13th Feb). My case is 2 days older than you.

Seems like you are not alone, look at the latest comment on this case:

Are they joking, why you case change from "someone is looking into it" to "waitting to be processed" after several days. like a cycle.

Don't know. Whatever is written within parenthesis "(...)" is the explaination given by customer support officer - so what matters more is "Under Consideration" because this is "official" status of the application.

Though I am surprised how the status changed from "Under Consideration" to "waiting for further consideration" and finally "under consideration" just in one day :!:

My guess is they had a look at your application but couldn't be bothered (it's Monday!), so threw it back in the pile :o
I can just see all those pending applications piling up as I write.

if she said under consideration, its a good sign.. it means that its with a case worker.

if it moves into "under further consideration", it can be delayed..

Mbasagaa,

Are you just guessing or you know from some credible source.
Bcoz today I ask the difference b/w under further consideration and further consideration. HO said
Under further consideration: Somebody is looking further into the application
Under consideration: Somebody is looking into appl.

BTW my status changed from further consideration to under consideration this week :? :?:

Why it is so slow now. I am wondering if it is because of the economy in UK, to push HO slow down foreign competition??

Don't know - may be caseworker is having to spend more time on my application. Did you call HO again?

I haven't called yet. I'm afraid to hear that my application is still awaiting consideration. Does anybody have news today?

I applied for extension to HSMP. My visa expires 30 Mar 09, getting married 29 Mar 09 and flying to SA on 20 Mar 09. On my applicatoin I stated the urgency. I couldnt apply earlier due to maintenance funds. So far:

7 Feb - Sent by Royal Mail so that it arrives by 09:00
10 Feb - Received
10 Feb - Fee Deducted
17 Feb - Sent urgent treatment

I still havent received a confirmation letter so a little worried. I called HO but they wont tell me anything until 6 weeks is up.

I faxed it to 0114 207 2536. After seeing the other reply with the address I'm going to post it as well. Did you state in your application(cover letter) that you are getting married? Please keep us posted when you received your passport.
