Important for Income tax or Form 16?

I have paid less tax in the last 2 yrs ( ie 2005-06 and 2006-07) and for year 2007-08 I have Form 16 from Aug 2007 to March 2008. My income from Aug 2007 to March 2008 is less and also for 2005-06 and 2006-07. Am confused whether to submit my Form 16 for the Year 2007-2008 due to less income. 2 to 3 agencies told its better to show them ITR for all the three yrs even though the income is less as its adds to the credibility that I am a law abiding citizen. But am scared as if I show I hope that does not make them negative about my earlier income. So am confused whether to show them 3 yrs ITR or current form 16 ( Aug 2007 to March 2008 ) ?

Hi,

Form 16 is no accepted as an evidence. You need to sumit your Income Tax Returns for the last 3 years.

THe ECO is not concerned on your previous income. He would be intrested to know, if you have earned sufficient income in the period for which you are claiming points for and you score the required points under the past earnings.

But my income is less for the year 2007-2008 if i show ITR.? My previous earning claim period is from Jan 2008 to Dec 2008.

Winston Taylor u gave me wrong info. I submitted my form 16 and not 3yrs IT papers and i got my visa in 5 days. Dont advise wrong in the forum and confuse and scare people.
