Dependant visa

Post by kiran_mannava » Fri Feb 27, 2009 10:50 pm

Hi,
I have a question regarding the dependant visa.
I am in UK from 25 Jan, now I want to apply visa for my wife.
My wife's account has £1600 for more than 3months. As, I have opened my account recently in here in UK, I can show £800 at the time of applyinng.
But I cannot show for 3months in my account.

Can I try a luck with: 3months bank account of my wife(£1600)
1month bank account of mine(£800)
job offer letter of mine in Uk

Regards,
Kiran

hi, Your wife's funds ( 1600 for past three months) should be suffiecient for your application.

aspirant09 seems to be correct.
but Just get it confirmed with any members who applied from Outside UK to be safer side.

there are two different policies i found.

Inside UK Applicants
you should show the maintenance funds(3months)for you and your dependent as well.please find the policy guidence at the below link.

If the main applicant under the highly skilled worker category is outside the United Kingdom or has been in the United Kingdom for less than 12 months, the family member must show that the main applicant or the dependant has at least £1,600 to support the dependant as well as the funds needed to support the main applicant.

Outside UK Applicants

Can my dependants join me in the UK?

Your husband, wife, civil partner or eligible partner and children under 18 can join you as your dependants in the UK if:

* they have a visa for this purpose and
* you can support them without any help from public funds. You need £1,600 for each dependant joining you within 12 months of your arrival in the UK and £533 thereafter.

aspirant09, Thank you. I am planning to apply on 3,April as I would have atleast one month bank balance of £300. Also, few rules of Tier 1 visa are going to change from 1 April, do you think of any impact on dependant visas?

Thanks..
Kiran
