Taking Fidelity Oath outside Dublin

Post by Missy2 » Mon Mar 02, 2009 1:38 pm

Just a quick question on the fidelity oath, has anyone taken the oath outside Dublin even though they are resident in Dublin?

When I took my oath in Cork, where I live, they asked for my address. I got the distinct impression that had I lived outside the Cork area they would have shown me the door.

Thanks a lot guys. I will try calling the Athlone and Dandalk district court offices. I rang the dublin office and they are fully booked until June.

Please let us know the outcome. For me Naas will be closer. Can I do it in Naas?

The approval letter says I can go to any court which is convenient. I checked both Naas & Trim. They refused saying I need to be living in the county.

Resident - Dublin

Tried the following courts but was told to go away being non resident of the area -
Mullingar
Port Laois
Bray
Dun Laoghire
Dundalk

Has anyone living in Dublin been able to take oath outside dublin?
If yes,
--> Which court??
--> Did you just dropped in or took appointment thru phone?

Any updates on this would be highly appreciated.

I haven't done this myself but I know of dublin residents who have taken oath in
Dundalk
Athlone
Donegal

They contacted the clerk on phone first.
