PETITION TO PM: STOP RETROSPECTIVE CHANGES TO HSMP/TIER1

Post by rkrohela » Wed Mar 04, 2009 8:45 pm

Hello Friends,

The time has now come to voice our resentment direct to the Prime Minister, about the proposed retrospective changes to HSMP.

I have created an e-petition, request you all to sign it for creating pressure on the government to do justice to us.

Here is the link:

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/justicefortier1/

Let us make our voice heard!!

CONTENT OF THE PETITION

Post by rkrohela » Wed Mar 04, 2009 8:48 pm

Reproducing the content of the Petition for easy reference.

This is regarding the changes to criteria being proposed for Highly Skilled Migrants who have made enormous contributions to the economy of the UK. We work very hard, pay our taxes and do not depend on doles/benefits. Some rules for Tier 1 Highly Skilled Migrants have been changed, such as increasing the level of qualification from Bachelors to Masters and increasing the salary levels to a minimum of GBP 20000, in addition to increase in the time limit for indefinite leave to remain from five years. The principles of justice and fairness demand that they should not be applied retrospectively to existing immigrants. The impact of banning the dependents of immigrants from working will hit us very badly. Many of us have made UK our permanent home, already taken homes on mortgages and paying regular taxes, and abiding by the laws.

The rules should not be changed for people who are already in the UK. True, the government can change the rules of the PBS to control the numbers of immigrants who plan to come in future. But changing the rules for existing immigrants who left well established careers back home to work here and made UK their home is unjust and against all rules of fairness.

I have done to...

Gorden Brown in UK says, "British Job For Britishers"
and in USA Says, "No Protectionism, Free Trade, Global economy etc"
What a hypocrite...

E-Petitions: how they work!

Post by rkrohela » Thu Mar 05, 2009 10:58 am

Hello Friends,

For those of you who are wondering what will happen with this petition, it will be FORWARDED to the concerned government department for the response if more than 200 people SIGN.

Please see this extract from http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/faq

This is a good way of creating pressure, as of now we have reached 71 signatures, let us touch the 200 mark and cross it well beyond!!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What will happen to my petition once it is finished?
Once your petition has closed, usually provided there are 200 signatures or more, it will be passed to officials who work for the Prime Minister in Downing Street, or sent to the relevant Government department for a response.

Every person who signs such a petition will receive an email detailing the Government's response to the issues raised.

Rohit you have put the "deadline to sign up by" as 04 March 2010 which means the petition will not be forwarded to the "concerned" before March next year. Can you advance the date? Otherwise I would say effort wasted.

also please mention about the judicial review that home office lost and judge said this changes were illegal. infact any
retrospective rule in immigration will be illegal. no where in the world they make it retrospective. Uk always says, they are trying to follow australian point system. but in australia and a highly skilled immigrant enters as a permenanet resident. he doesnt need any extension or whatever. and no new rule will effect people who are already in a programme. same as in canda, newzealand and so on.
