Hi,

Can anyone tell me where you got the information about processing status, like: "Waiting consideration", "Waiting for further consideration" etc.

Thanks

Congrats, geek1981. All the best to your stay in UK. BTW, what reason do you know it took that long?

Senior members and members who are calling HO currently could you guys please confirm this?

Thanks

Though I have never personally called the UKBA hotline, I have heard from others that little information is given out prior to the 6 weeks after the application was submitted.

Hi drjabberwocky23,

Thanks for ur advise...

I've seen a few members call before 6 weeks and getting updates such as "Under Consideration" or "Under further consideration"..

Its better to know that our application has some update than nothing at all..

Definately no harm in calling. However from my experience, if it's not up to 6 weeks, they'll ask you to ring back later.

Surprise , the waiting times in website are moved back to 29th Jan from 17th Feb.

"During the week commencing 9 March 2009, we expect to be considering applications that were received on or before 29 January 2009. "

I really don't understand this. Does this mean it was a typo last week? If that one wasn't maybe this is a typo?

I think it is very likely that last week's was a typo. It seems like they process 5 days per week.

last was: 19th January
this week should be: 24th January (but they wrote 17th February)
next week: 29th January

I don't know if it was a typo, but it may be that they grossly overestimated how quickly they could work. Also, there is a possibility that they are looking to close applications for a period before the new rules come into effect.

"close applications"?
Do you mean that they will stop people from making applications for a period OR resolve the applications made before a certain time?

I think there might be another possibility. They probably briefly solved all the simple cases before 17th February last week. Now they are back to work in a normal pace.

A combination of both I think. The last rule change in 2006, brought a certain period when no new applications were accepted for the HSMP until the new rules were brought in place. In the meantime, they looked to expedite existing applications that had been made before this time.

Your point regarding "simple" application is also very possible.
