I do not think so, from my research, but it's best to ask here.jilly cooper wrote:Is it true that you can qualify for naturalisation in The Netherlands via student visa so long as it is 5 years and uninterrupted?
Thanks in advance.

Being a student (on a student visa) is regarded as a temporary purpose, and does not make you eligible for Dutch citizenship. At the time of application you need to have a rp for a non-temporary purpose, and have resided legally in the Netherlands for at least five years. It is allowed however, that during this time you had a rp for a temporary purpose, but it has to be changed to a non-temporary purpose before you can apply. You have a residence permit for a non-temporary purpose, such as family reunification.

The essential point for you is:Being a student (on a student visa) is regarded as a temporary purpose, and does not make you eligible for Dutch citizenship. Residing legally means that on every single day of those five years you were in possession of a valid residence permit, which is of course only possible if you always renew it on time.
