hsmp or tier1 to WP or tier2 ...Counter reset

Hi ,

I am in UK from 4.3 years with latest Leave to remain on HSMP .

I was planning if something goes wrong in my hsmp to tier 1 extension , then to move to WP or tier2 .

So will my 4.3 years counter become 0 if we convert from HSMP to WP .Many guys says that . Is there any link in HO which says that .

But one of my friend who came to UK in HSMP converted it to WP but still got PR . i am confused which is truth .

please guide as a company is ready to sponser me a WP in case my HSMP to tier1 is not possible or rejected ...

The counter will not reset if you change from hsmp to tier 1

if you change from hsmp/tier 1 to work permit then your counter will be reset

However, you can still claim ILR based on your legal stay after 9 years
