Wp to tier1

Post by lilmeiow2008 » Tue Mar 10, 2009 4:14 pm

I have applied for my WP to tier1 today. Instead of salary slips for last 12 months I have provided a detailed letter from my employer. I have claimed for the period of March 2008 - Feb 2009 but I am worried about 1 slight thing. There is a huge difference between my gross salary for Jan 09 and Feb 09. The letter tells the total gross and total net for 1 year alongwith the breakup of every month.

December 2008
Gross pay: £1958.33
Tax: £291.00
National Insurance: £165.77
Net Pay: £1501.56

January 2009
Gross pay: £1958.33
Tax: £291.00
National Insurance: £165.77
Net Pay: £1501.56

February 2009
Gross pay: £3041.67
Tax: £507.60
National Insurance: £284.57
Net Pay: £2249.50

In February I was paid a backpay for Jan09 for £541.67. This pay has actually been paid in real in my bank account( not just to claim more points) and the tax and NI has been paid for the same. Will huge difference in gross salary for jan 09 and Feb 09 be a problem or I am just worrying without any reason?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Difference looks more than that.

there should not be any problem, as long as you provide matching evidences from two different sources.

Actually my salary was increased to £2500 Pm in Janauary but payroll department payrolled me on my old salary(£1958.33 ) in Jan. So the amount of £541 was addded to £2500 of my Feb Salary.

Bank statements do show the net pay of £2249.50 for Feb 09.

So there is nothing to worry about?

Thanks for your reply.

As long as you provide two matching evidences. There is no need to worry. Remember, people usually get such lumpsums as result of over time, yearly bonus, arrears. Nothing to worry about it.
