I am just wondering about your Status why it is in the same status for such a long time??

nexttime you call HO "TRY" to get more info than AfC... why it is soo long in AfC status?? Goodluck..

Congratulations on receiving the VISA.

I just wanted to know, did you apply for WP - Tier 1 switching or you had a prior HSMP approval?
You mentioned "Reference Letter Dated: 23-JAN-2009", what letter was this?

I'm thinking the delay is due to my home country previous earnings/job which may need to be verified/checked, but who knows really

Yes, I applied for WP-Tier1 switch.. not HSMP

Reference letter is the letter HO sends you once they receive yoru application with a date, saying that they recived ur application and will be sent to caseworker for further consideration etc etc...

Its like an acknowledgement letter of the receipt of ur application and the reference no is useful further to know ur status after 6weeks.. nothing related to HSMP.. sorry if i sounded like that..

Mar 6'th friday at 4-30 PM - awaiting consideration
sent the request for urgent treatment by post on mar 6'th

Mar 9'th monday - pasport dispatched
Mar 110'th - documents received with aproval
valid from 9/3/2009 to 9/3/2012
entire process is completed on 9'th iteself

have been a passive reader of all the posts

I tried to check the status today as my application got completed more than 6 weeks. But, due to some IT glitch, they were not able to tell the status.

I forget to include special delivery envelope along with my application. How does the HO send the application?

The HO will send back your docs by recorded delivery which takes 2-3days to reach us unlike SD is delivered nextday...

It is a good idea to attach SD envelop so that we can save ourselves from the 2-3days waiting and tension its very hard believe me

I am silent member of this forum. I am thankful to each and everyone in the forum. I appreciate the ppl who share their experience, knowledge and advices here.

Abt my case, my present visa (HSMP) expires on 30th Mar. I applied for extension in January itself. Almost 3 months earlier. Here are my timelines.

Present expiry date: 30 Mar 2009
Application type: Tier 1 extension and one dependent
Application sent: 17 Jan 2009
Reached Home Office: 19 Jan 2009
Fee debited: 19 Jan 2009
Ref received: 21 Jan 2009
Approval date: 2 Mar 2009
Documents received: 10 Mar 2009
Got extension until 30 Mar 2012

No worries for next 3 years. Thanks again one and all.

The status from the very first day is "Application forwarded to Islamabad OC on...."

I paid the fee in cash. Will i also recieve a letter? or how will i know the fee has been processed or not?

Kindly guide.

this thread is for UK applicants.
If you applied from Pak, then you would not get letter from UKBA. Jerry's people would give you receipt.
