Fight on road : good character ?

Fight on road : good character ?

Hi Seniors ,

I had a fight on the road with some drunk guys and he hit me and i stated to hit him .

Some police guys on cycles came in and stopped all of us and i tried to explain . He took names and DOB of all of the guys there .

He also told if they see me again in such situations i will be arrested .

So i did not sign any papers or i was not taken to Police station or charged . But they took my name and DOB and enquired somewhere and let me go .

Is it a conviction . Will it afect me for my tier1 application where in one of the statement is

"Has the applicant ever engaged in any other activities which might indicate that he/she may not be considered to be a person of good character?"


Please help . I am worried because of this . :cry:

looking at your situation, i would not consider myself as person of bad character untill convicted or proven gulity...

but i would declare this on my cover letter just to avoid any issue..

(seniors please advice..)

Hi ,

"good character"

there is no notes what they mean by good character for tier 1 .

But there is a note for ILR guidance which never says warnings etc as BAD character .


Also i did a quick check from SCOTLAND DISCLOSURE (basic)

And their report came clean saying NIL convictions .

Praying it should be OK .

nahhh...it shouldnt be a problem at all.

You were probably hitting them for a good reason! i mean if they were raping another girl and you were the hero heera laal. so good character.

My advice ...dont declare that on form..they take your DOB just to check your status..not to make logs of your conviction. it wasnt in first place anyway.

dont worry and next time avoid fights and if necessary .....RUN...
