Reg. Police Registration for Indian national

Dear All,

I am an Indian citizen and I am living in UK since January'05 on HSMP, but till date I have not registered with police.

I am applying for my HSMP renewal this month end. Do I need to register with police and get Police Registration number before I apply for renewal.

As a commenwealth citizen you are not required to register with the police, so you are fine.

The subject of police registration was discussed more fully in this recent thread.

It is not as simple as commonwealth/non-commonwealth. Lots of non-commonwealth countries are not on the list requiring police registration.
