I went for my B2 visa interview in London on 3 October 2008, and was told that my application was placed on halt pending AAP. I have not heard anything from the consular since then. Can anyone tell me roughly how long it takes for the visa to be issued please.

You may have to wait and check with the consulate whether your security checks have been cleared. This is standard procedure and you will have to wait until they are cleared.
