Hi,
You should bring in funds as you will need money. Traveler cheques may be a good option ( safe one). You can take money back when ever you want.

Good luck,

Hi TRV

I have the same question. I think we could take in any currncy. But the amount should be as to the immigration web site and propotionate to number of people travelling. Major currencies would be beter. Since I am in UK I prefer to take in British Pounds. It is always advisable to take more than specified as conversion rate may be changed within a day these days. If you have any further information please let me know too.

When you enter Canada you will need proof of funds, you do not need all the money with you. A bank statement or document showing the funds will be fine. You will obviously need some money with you until you obtain a Canadain bank account and transfer your money over. When I entered Canada I just showed them my UK bank statement and told them the money would be transfered as soon as possible. I used HIFX to transfer the money and had no problems. :D

Dear All

I have finalised preparation to go to Canada in April 2009. PR visa validity is upto 26 June 2009.

I have taken a bank draft amount to little less than specified amount issued in my name. And also I carry cash a little for immediate expenditure till I open an account in Canada. Both cash and bank draft exceeds the full specified amount for immigration purpose.

However my intention is to be there for a short duration and return back. Can I use my PR visa for this purpose or I have to get a TRV(temporary residence visa) for this purpose?

This is because my children have to return to complete the first year university course that ends in June 2009 in UK.

OR I can use PR visa for this pupose?

Further two of the family members passport expire in August 2009. That is 6 months less than the entering date to Canada and the expiry date of passport in August 2009. Any problem in this or I have extend the passprt expiry to make it more than 6 months ?

Appreciate your views on this.

Hi
I am planning to go to Canada under PR skilled worker class in April 2009.

Is it required to apply for PR Card or it is issued automatically if I provide an address at the port of entry?

Are there forms that I have to get and duly filled prior to move to Canada in April 2009 from UK?

Appreciate your views and experience.
