NCS or Postal : NCS @ Ilford
Date of submission or posting : 16th Feb 2009
CRITERIA : 5 yr on (WP) + 1 yr ILR
Date of receipt of acknowledgment :27th Feb 09 Dated 23rd Feb 09

In the ack, they have mentioned that fee payment was not enclosed(funny as I have filled the payment slip and was also verified by NCS officer)
Actions taken:
1. Called up Bank and came to know that the HO people have key'd in wrong issue no of my Debit card, so, payment denied(but HO cleverly mentioned that I have not enclosed payment slip). This is clear irresponsibility of HO and they did'nt even bothered to call me when the bank denied the transaction.
2.Called HO and they refused to discuss about bank payments and asked me to send fresh payment slip.
3.Again sent fresh fee payment slip on 27th feb 09(this was the same details that I mentioned when I submitted my docs at NCS), reached HO on 2nd Mar 09, fee deducted on 5th Mar 09.

Date of receipt of approval : TBD
Date of Ceremony : TBD
Date of appln. for passport : TBD
Method used: TBD may be Post Office Check & Send
Documents returned:
Interview request letter: TBD
Interview date: TBD
Date of Receipt of passport:TBD

Fkarim

Congrats for getting your approval. Waiting is finally over for you.

I called the HO today to check if they can give any update. As expected, they couldn't give any info.

Have to wait patiently.

As I read other posts on this forum,it appears that each NCS office has their own criteria of asking documents, though in guidence notes not many documents are asked for. So I can say that you will be alright with the documents you have submitted.
As for myself, when I booked appointment with NCS (Bolton, Greater Manchester) they sent me a letter asking to take with me host of documents.
These were
Passports
P-60 for last 5 years,
wage slips for 3 months,
Bank statements for 3 months
Driving License with its counter part
Letter from employer
Utility bill
Life in UK pass certificate
They photocopied all and returned me the originals.

Can you imagine? Nevertheless I took them all to satisfy them.

Do not worry moh4u, You will be all right and hopefully soon you will have good news as we can see they are dealing with super fast speed now a days.
Good luck

Just 1 question, I noticed that your interview date was on Jan 3 which was saturday. Does this mean, I can ask for a saturday appointment for an interview?

Thanks

that was extremely quick.
Just today (16-Mar-2009)I had my appoinemtn with NCS at croydon.
they took my original copy of Life in the UK and photocopies of passport...that's it.

They say as prices go up in April, it is a bit of rush - and could end up in 7 months. Hope it is not that long.

Hi all, brilliant posts.
Few Q`s if poss..

Ok wife 1st arrived 01 Aug 06, ILR gained Jul 08 Her Russian, Me English (and a soldier as that may come into prob later !!)

1. understand citizenship can be applied for as at 01 Aug 09 ?
2. is process any quicker now? wife will remain in UK when i get posted away for few months to do the Queen and country bit.
3. if we use NCS she can keep her passport ? as its gettin quite full of Schengen visas for work travel etc
4. random Q but do visas (ie Schengen have to have a spare page and spare [/i]facing page ??

And finally, i appreciate this is UK forum, but has anyone had any experience with getting a new Russian Passport, whilst in process of UK citizenship. I gather a Russian subject can keep it and be british citizen (dual ?), but for eg she travels to Russia and enters on Russian passport, they will be difficult as she will not have ILR in Russian passport, when they check visa for UK at check in to return, even if she has the old (Russian)passport and new (Russian)passport with her . They will not recognise her (soon to be full ) spent Russian Passport (that has UK ILR in)... its a mystery to us and anyone who can shed any light would be brilliant

Regards

Willsk22,

This thread is for tracking the timeline for already submitted citizenship applications, so let it be used for what it was originally meant to do.

Please open a new thread with your queries and am sure someone will answer them.

FKarim, looks like we may get responses around a similar time, unless I experience a delay for not going through the NCS or for paying by cheque.

Are there any others out there who have applied/been approved recently without going through the NCS?

Some of the recent time-lines have been very impressive.

Easy enough appointment, in and out in 15 minutes! For anyone about to apply, if you can make it up to Leicestershire, do so. They are very helpful and because they do NCS in three differenet offices, they usually have more appointments.
