Bank statements (Barclays)

Post by vector777 » Wed Mar 18, 2009 10:37 am

Hi,

I have requested bank statements from Barclays for the past 12 months to prove my earnings.

However Barclays are not able to provide these on a letterhead, they only provide a cover letter to say that the rest of the pages are identical to the originals.

Does anyone know if this is sufficient or does every page need to be individually stamped ?

Many thanks in advance.

Every page needs to be stamped.

I am unsure if you can prove your earnings solely by showing an amount has come in each month into the bank account... surely then one could just set up a standing order to transfer money from two accounts they own?

I think it does need to be on their letterhead AND stamped as well.

Every page needs to be individually signed & stamped in this case.

I was told by the Branch Manager that they are actually not allowed to sign and stamp the statements.

Which kind of makes sense as they are unable to verify the information on it, as at the branch they are unable to view your statement history that far back. I requested customer services to stamp them however they refused saying there was a cover letter explaining that they were exact duplicates of the original.

However I have noticed most employees are not aware of this and stamp it anyway :)

Well the same thing happened with me and the barclays customer service lady was arguing not to stamp or sign the statements and she keeps on insisting that she cant do anything about it. But i stood there and raised my voice a bit and other customers noted as well. And then the bank manager realised i am creating big fuss about this....She took me to the office and signed and stamped the statements for me....So there you go-------u need to raise ur voice and it should work out for you as well
