Maintenance funds query - HSBC letter head

Post by destiniation_london » Sat Mar 21, 2009 6:45 pm

can you all please clarify my following query for maintenance funds.

This morning I went to HSBC branch in UK for the evidences of maintenance (funds) requirements. They said they would be able to give the bank statements for the last 3 months on HSBC letter head. They said the statement would have my name, bank account details and the transactions per day but wont have my address on it. Also, they said they wont be able to stamp and sign it as well they are unable to give any letter stating my balance has been over 800£ at all times for the last 3 months.

Do you guys think this is ok?

The guidance note says:
Ad hoc bank statements printed on the bank’s letterhead are admissible as evidence (this excludes mini-statements from cash points).
There is no compulsion with regards to stamp or signature in the guidance notes (for ad hoc bank statements presented on bank's letterhead).

Address is not necessary as the evidence should have the following details:
the applicant’s name;
the account number;
the date of the statement;
the financial institution’s name and logo;
transactions covering the three month period;
regards,

Thanks a lot push_hsmp, you really rocks.....

it is a bit relieving. I really have to apply within this week before the 'so called' new rules comes into force.

If I were in your position, I would have stated in the cover letter - "I am providing 3 month's bank statements on the letter head of my Bank in line with clause/paragraph xx on page no xx in the PBS guidance note".
