URGENT help needed plz: Tier 1 General Application Form

Post by coolfella » Sun Mar 22, 2009 8:26 pm

Dear All,

Hope you are well.

I am in the middle of filling out my tier 1 application form. The only problem I am having is to understand whether my employer's contribution towards study will count as previous earnings.

For example, on top of my Basic they are paying £1900 for a course that I am studying. They have already made the payment. will it count as a part of my total earnings?

Please advise.

In UKBA website, under "Unearned sources of income that we will not consider as previous earnings include:"

link: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... /earnings/

They have mentioned "sponsorship for periods of study" will not count as previous earnings but does it mean study leave or the actual money invested in my course!

I am confused! :?

Please help.

Many thanks...

Sponsorship from company cannot be treated as income. This is mentioned in the guidacance notes and logically neither your company nor you are paying tax on it.

Hi

thanks for your input.. but tax's been paid on the amount agreed. for example to pay £1900 they made a payment of £2636 and been added with basic pay after that the total amount got taxed!
