Home office reference number

Post by Visa_Novice » Sun Mar 22, 2009 10:47 pm

Hi,
can any body clarify what is home office reference number ?
I have a work permit which has gone for extention two time. So in all I have three work permits issued by Home office. Each one of them has a different reference number at the first page of the work pemit.
This reference number consists of 12 - 17 characters(Two of them contains 12 characters while first one contains 17 characters).
tier-1 application form contains 8 character space for reference number. What shall I fill in this box in tier-1 form ?

There are three kind of numbers on my first work permit paper:
1) Our Reference
2) Permit Number
3) Worker reference Number

Which one I should use?

Kindly advice.
Thanks

They have asked for home office reference number and workers reference number both.
Workers reference number is clearly mentioned in the work permit while as per the explanation given by you, home office reference number turns out to be the same as workers reference number. Are they both same ?
If they happens to be the same then why would thay ask for both of them?

Kindly advice.
Thanks

ref. no would be on the document which you might have received from HO with you WP.
You can also use your Visa no. (on top right corner ) on your passport stamp. HO can pull out all your records from any of the ref no. you provide.
