Limited Leave to Remain is quite simply what all non-EU citizens are granted whilst on Visas in the UK. All leave to remain is Limited up until the point that you gain Indefinite Leave to Remain or Citezen ship.

It means that your allowed here in the UK so it's a good thing :D .... providing you want to be here of couse :shock:

Limited Leave = Not Permanent, Not Forever, Only up to designated date, Cannot go beyond the date stamped on the passport.

Remain = Stay, live, reside.

again with Limited Leave to Remain, YOU DON'T have access to public funds - meaning you can't get benefits as ChildBenefit, State Pension or other free govt. funds. Should you claim any of them, you will be barred from having ILR !!!!!!!!
