A few questions - Applying from outside UK and your Country

Hi All,

Please answer a few queries for me.

1. I am applying for this outside of the UK and also outside my own country. Do I need to submit anything regarding my status in the country I am submitting it in (like Work Permit, Residence Permit) etc.

2. I have filled the online form and will print it out and filled the online Points calculator which generates a pdf file. Do I still need to fill the VAF9 and PBSAppendix1 forms?

1. Check with local consulate, Its solely their prerogative. Fundamental question to you - Won't they check what triggers you to apply from a different country? If they won't check then a person on tourist visa can apply from any country?

2. Just compare the details asked on Online with VAF and Appendix, if they are NOT matching then you DO neet them.

Hi Prophet ,

If it is first time app . I think you need to get ENTRY CLEARANCE which needs police verification etc and i think you should be in country during that period .

Yes it is application for the first time. It does not say anything about not applying from your country of nationality.

I have all legal documents in Belgium and have been verified by the police here. Your residence permit is only issued after police verification.

I also have had two UK Visas (tourist) in the past.

My belief is that when you do a EC . you need to be in HOME COUNTRY .

Not sure . seniors will have to comment .

Tons of people has done this already. you can apply from country of your legal residence. If you are in belgium on work visa, you can do it.

It depend on british consulate of country of your residence(Belgium). Check with them for this process.

i applied from US ..indian nationality ...
if u filled online application u dont need vaf9
but u still need to fill appendix1..
also attach the pdf for pbs calculator..
