Visa applied : 16th March 2009
Visa approved: 23rd March 2009
Collected today:24th March 2009

I received all my documents back ( both originals and photocopies)

Congrats! Good to see a success story once in a while!! Despite all the grumblings and complaints, I do believe that if you have a genuine case with all the right documents etc it should be a breeze to get the visa.

That was real quick. How where you able to collect the documents within the next day? Do the documents and application go to Home office in the UK or get scrutanized at VFS office itself?

VFS forwards the documents to British embassy delhi,
British embassy delhi takes the decision and stamps the visa

WEST VFS goes to Mumbai BHC
North VFS goes to Delhi BHC
EAST VFS goes to Calcutta BHC (This one i guess)

Just for information for all

These are additional documents which i submitted and they might not mandatory:-

1. Original Compensation review letter on official Company letter head, showing my Gross salary details.
2. My visiting card, showing my job title and company address.
3. Copy of passport of a British citizen (Accommodation proof)
4. Copy of Form 16 for last two years, this year tax statement copy.
5. Visiting card of bank official who signed my papers.
6. Original Academic Transcript stating that course was taught in English.
7. Original birth certificate from Municipal committee.
8. Original Consolidated mark sheet for all eight semesters
9. Original 8 semester Mark sheets
