I applied within the U.S. - Only took a week to get the whole thing processed!! I'm very excited.

Payment - March 12
Email confirmation of received - March 17th
Email confirmation of approval - March 19th
Passport received - March 20th

I did have one question though. When I make my way to the UK what (if any) documents do I need to show immigration? (i.e. - maintenance funds,..etc.)

Hi All,

Just wanted to share my application with you guys.

My visa got rejected for not submitting original degree certificate. I am applying it again tomorrow(This time with original certificate)....As i cannot appeal because i am already on work permit i have to create a fresh application. so frustrating!!

I see this as my last chance as i dont qualify for new rules which are coming from 1st April.

Anyway, does anyone know what is the waiting period now?? Is it same as 6 to 8 weeks or more.

Today I called up Border Agency for the first time after 6 weeks of application and they told me that my application "Awaiting further consideration". What does "Awaiting further consideration" mean? Does Border Agency tells more than this when status is enquired?

Unfortunately not. It appears as though you get one of four responses:

1) Awaiting consideration
2) Under Consideration
3) Awaiting further consideration
4) Documents posted back to you.

You won't get any more information out of them over the telephone.

Does it mean that if application is under " Awaiting further consideration" then it has already gone through "Awaiting consideration" and "Under Consideration" stages?

Do you mind me asking you hong long (in days) it took to get your documents back from the day when you requested withdrawal? I know you went there to pick it up by yourself. Thanks.

I got my passports and other documents on the day that my wife was travelling to India...I had to drive all the way to Sheffield and get my passports...however, to my surprise the lady who called me that morning completed processing of my application in 4 hrs, stamped the passports and gave it to me...I was delighted...never expected them to approve after I had withdrawn my application...

For your information, please go with an appointment to speed up ur application process. The vfs guys told me that by 9.30am they had already accepted 97 applications, 15 of which were Tier 1.

So as we would expect the processing time also would be high. And my wait starts now........

P.S: There was no enquiry with my current or previous employer. I actually called my current HR and previous company HR (whose contact is given) to update them that they are going to get my enquiry anytime now and they confirmed there was no enquiry till date (yesterday)! Strange!

Make sure all paperwork is in perfect order. It speeds up processing.All the best.

I never called HO and was planning to call this thursday to check the status but by God grace didn't have to do so.
So have patience if ur docmentation etc is perfect no need to worry.its only the time one has to wait.which ofcourse is painful.

Agree with most of u if all paperwork is in perfect order. It speeds up processing.

You can call 0870 606 7766 after 6weeks. You need to wait for 6weeks as a standard, before you can receive any update on ur application. all the best to us all.
