Please help.. Mrs in Bank statements, Ms in payslips

Post by MJNair » Mon Mar 23, 2009 10:48 pm

My title in all my records is 'Mrs' Y Xxx (bank statements, original HSMP approval letter etc etc). My payslips alone have my name printed as 'Ms' Y Xxx. I am up for HSMP to Tier 1 extension soon. Do you think this would be an issue? I intend to show my payslips and my bank statements as my proof of earnings.
Please advice!!! Getting worried!

that shouldn't be a problem.. my application set has similar instances (Ms & Mrs) too.. few of my payslips has only my initials and my surname.. but nothing to worry.. basically all supporting docs should talk/tally to each other..

Hi MJ,

Even i have lots of issues on my statements .

Some statements has Mahesh N .
Some has M nair .

My lawyer says that should not be issue .

But again it is with HO case worker to decide .
I am also hoping it is Ok . I called HO to tell that . He says since it is not with case worker , they cannot do anything .

But my lawyer has clearly mentioned that in the covering letter .
That M NAIR is same as Mahesh N .

But i am having a slight fear because my first HSMp app was rejected 2 years back because on my Birth Cert , the man who gave the certificate has written the certificate in his style of english . And HO said that the nothing is legible or makes any sense .

Then i got a correct one , computer typed and reapplied and got approved  Lost lots of money .

Is it just the title that is different? i.e. Mrs. Jane Doe vs. Ms. Jane Doe?
Or is the the actual surname as well? Mrs. Jane Doe vs. Ms. Jane Smith?

Don't worry, title should not matter, as long as the name is same.

Hi drjabberwocky23,
I haven't changed my surname since marriage. I only changed my title to Mrs. So the name is Mrs Y <Maidenname>.

Ms is a generic title which covers both Mrs and Miss. Dont be hassled about it at all

Once again, thank you all for responding.

Hi Yasa, yes my payslip does have the NI number. To be honest, I didn't think about the NI number thing. (And I am supposedly a 'Highly Skilled' migrant!!)
