Hi Moderators,

Well i've searched about the professional memberhsip points in message history of the forum but not able to get any significant information. Posted the query twice and still waiting for reply. Would you please spare some time to write few lines for my assistance. I'll be highly obliged for the kind consideration in this regard.

Umer as far I know HSMP there are no points for a professional membership. So it does not matter how many societies you are member with it just adds to ur professional status and makes evidence stronger but nothing in terms of points.

This is the reason why u have not been able to find anything on MEMBERSHIP Points simply because there arnt any !!

Let me revise my question.

I'm under 28 and a Software Architect having around 6 years of experience with around 3 years as Project Lead. Though i posses following degrees...

Bachelor of Computer Sciences (Honors)
Master of Computer Sciences

But NARIC has rated my qualification equivalent to Bachelor (Honors).
So I'm bound now to claim the following points.

Age: 5
Qualification: 15
Experience: 50

That means right on the edge (bottom line). If I’ve lost the point for senior position, case would be rejected straight away.

Please assist me if I can make my case stronger with the Professional Membership of British Computer Society (MBCS or FBCS). With the said membership whether I’d be able to strengthen my claim for any of the following

25 points for Qualification
OR
50 points for Experience

Kayalmi and Chess you have some background to such issue (as I’ve seen the forum's history), so need your assistance in particular. I’d be highly obliged for the kind consideration.

Regards,
Umer Khan

I am afraid you will not get any Specialist points for your experience as only 5 % people get specialist points they claimed. And within those 5 % most of them are Phd's. As in IT they do not consider Specialist positions and they consider IT experience as graduate level experience

umerhoustan

your membership with BCS does not make any difference to your Qualification/Experience points. As NARIC has awarded you with Graduate Degree, so you will only get 15 marks in Qualification.
