Hi,
Following on from this discussion, I'd just like to confirm a couple of things for my wife's ILR application.
The initial 2-year entry clearance visa is valid from 12/06/07, expiring on 12/06/09.
She entered the country on 20/06/07 and we have lived together since.
We have booked the application in person for 24/05/09.
We have an overseas holiday booked for 05/06/09 (I know, not the wisest thing to do but it's a big family reunion where choice of dates were out of our hands.)
Now, assuming everything goes smoothly will we have our passports returned to us on the day of the interview, and if so, will there be no problem for my wife to travel on 05/06/09?
My concern is that she won't have been in the UK for the full two years to qualify for the ILR until 20/06/09. Or if the application is made within 28 days of that date then they award the ILR with effect from the two year anniversary? Or will they hold the passport until the two year anniversary? (my main worry).
Any help would be much appreciated.
J
