HSMP Extension

Post by bouncingboy » Wed May 05, 2004 4:20 pm

I am on a HSMP Visa with 1 year LTR on stamping. My LTR expires on 31-DEC-2004. What is the earliest time by which i can apply for extension.

I am in this country for almost 2 years(WP before). So i would like to get my HSMP extension as soon as possible

Is it 1 month or 5 weeks or 3 months before the LTR expiry ?

Thanks

For those seeking an extension to an existing IED, you should apply no sooner than 5 weeks before your existing leave expires, and within six months of you or your employer receiving confirmation of your approval for an IED. Therefore you need to ensure that your application for IED is applied for within these timescales. Applications received earlier than this, may not be able to be considered.
IN FLR(IED) Form it says 5 weeks????? Am i right ?

5 weeks is allowing for postage delays - sometimes for up to a week............but if you are sending via special delivery then dfo it about 4 weeks or 28 days before LTR expires

good luck

PS. What documentation do you plan to submit with your renewal application?

I still have six months time for applying for my extension. But since i am in a permanent job from day 1 of my HSMP clock, i guess i will not be having any problem with the extension. I was just curios whether i can make the extension application 6 months before the expiry, so that i will have my 3 years visa stamping in my passport which will in turn help me out in obtaining mortgages etc

thanks
