I'm suspecting my reasons for such an opportunity to felicitate are that I am switching from a student to Tier 1 G and have home earnings. So I've been waiting and waiting and waiting....
I'm sure my passport's getting moldy on someone's desk.

I've seen a couple of posts about delays in UK applications switching from Student to Tier 1 with even longer delays then I have.

If you are switching from Student to Tier 1, know someone who has, or just have an opinion, please put down your experiences and timelines so perhaps we can sleuth out a pattern.

And if you know someone who HAS successfully switched from Student to Tier 1 (G), do let us know so we take his/her passport, frame it and display in a museum. (You do know I'm joking, don't you?)

Application Received: Jan 14
Acknowledgment Letter: Jan 15
Feb 26 till date - Awaiting further consideration

AFC means what exactly? This a harrowing waiting process. Applied beginning Jan as well and status is AFC. Dunno wot to do anymore, this wait gettin tiresome. Called countless times, still no info. What to do anyone?

Your options are:

1. Put in an urgent treatment request
2. Send in a complaint letter
3. Wait and wait and wait and wait

Best of luck

kingfahad35, i cant believe HO called your job place for verification, you are so lucky,i think u will get good news very soon. My HSMP was denied last year because HO said it was not their responsibility to verify anything. They refused to call the university i attended here in the UK to verify if i studied full time. It would have been ONE QUICK CALL! but they refused my application and i had to make a fresh Tier 1 last September and still waiting. Awaiting further consideration since December 2008! Why are they so mean?! so unfair!

Awaiting further consideration since December 08? Why the delay since u have previous HO reference?

hoopsy, i am as surprised as everyone who hears about my case.
I have been dealing with this since february 2008,more than one year now.

First refusal was like i said because they could not be bothered to make a UK LANDLINE CALL! Meanwhile i call their 0870 office number all the time.

This awaiting further consideration i dont believe as someone said that a decision has been made and it just needs a senior officer to take a look, since December 2008! how long does it take? I just feel this is heartless!

Moves me to tears because i am at their mercy, i cant work,i cant do nothing.

We can only all pray for the best. Why were u refused the first time? Were u given the right to appeal?

During the week commencing 6 April 2009, we expect to be considering applications that were received on or before 10 March 2009. Please note that this timescale is a guideline only, and some cases may take longer to consider.

Hil all,
I wrote to the HO about my case being very delayed. Just received a letter saying that there are 'extended checks' going on.
Has anybody else had this one?
