What's the reference number on the entry clearance or visa

Post by bitterweb » Wed Apr 08, 2009 11:48 am

ie. reference number on the entry clearance or visa within the applicant’s passport or travel document.

It has been asked before but no answer was given.

Can someone help here please, thanks a lot!

I confirmed it from the Home Office, it is the VAF no. on top right corner of your visa.

Thanks for that. But my wife came to the UK on a visitor visa many years ago and it doesn't have VAF no. on it. (she has since got her leave to remain extended with my HSMP).

I applied for my leave to remain under HSMP with her as the dependent. She got her leave to remain extended to the same expiry date as my HSMP visa.

As I understand it has to be a dependent visa, right?

Yes, it should be clearly mentioned on her visa
"HSMP - Dependant"

That's not the case.

It has neither "HSMP" nor "Dependent".

It says Residence Permit just as my own visa does.
